Paola A. Badillo Pont (b. 1999, Puerto Rico) is a visual artist based in Miami,
Florida. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the Savannah College
of Art and Design, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing from the
Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.
Her practice moves through the intersection of spirituality, materiality, and self-
expression, unfolding through textile and mixed-media processes such as
painting, needle-punching, felting, and drawing. Working with hand-dyed monk’s
cloth and yarn, she constructs tactile compositions that meditate on the emotional
and energetic layers of human experience.
Rooted in an exploration of inner landscapes, Badillo’s work seeks harmony
between the visible and the invisible. The body and the unseen forces that shape
it. Guided by intuition, rhythm, and transformation, she approaches art-making as
a form of meditation and connection, inviting viewers into spaces of stillness and
presence where energy and emotion quietly converge.

Quieting the mind to experience the concept of chakras. Recognizing that
everything in life is energy, my art focuses on understanding and expressing
the energies within me. The seven chakras, often depicted as wheels or disks
in distinct colors, play a crucial role in shaping emotional landscape. Combining
personal perspective and spiritual abstraction, my practice engages with this
ancient belief, highlighting its potential for inner healing.
Creating by hand becomes a form of meditation. Being present with the action of
repetition. As the energy seamlessly moves through the creator to the creation, this
mindful practice fosters a deeper understanding of self.
I paint with yarn on hand-dyed monk’s cloth and paper, where materiality breathes
life into vibrant colors and forms. My choices are spontaneous, guided by intuition
rather than force. I follow a pattern that flows from the crown chakra to the root.
As I punch the cloth, the yarn finds its end, inviting the next color to emerge and
continue the harmony of the form. Through the interplay of colors, textures, and
shapes, I seek to connect the viewer to the energy that lives within my work.
I quiet the mind.
The third eye is the window between worlds.
My throat is okay. I’m okay, I am light.
Your heart is your highest intuition. Energy is sacred.
In silence, I find the truth within,
A reflection of all I’ve been and will begin.
Being present with the action of Repetition.
Grounded.
Knowing I am being guided.
